My stay at Hotel Universel had its ups and downs. The location was convenient for accessing the bus to tourist sights, which was a plus. but the room condition left much to be desired. Although the pool and jacuzzi looked inviting from the outside, the overall cleanliness and comfort were lacking. I appreciated the helpful staff, yet the dismal decor and inadequate room maintenance overshadowed my experience.

Rooms
5.0
The room was poorly maintained with old furniture and mold present. I faced issues with the coffee maker and received inadequate cleaning service during my stay. While I got laminate flooring which seemed like an upgrade, the room felt dark and dungeon-like.
Service
5.0
The front desk staff were polite and eager to assist with questions about the bus schedule. However, the overall service was hindered by a lack of room cleaning and the delivery of necessary items taking longer than expected.
Location
5.0
The hotel's location is handy as the bus stop is directly outside, making it easy to reach Old Quebec City. I enjoyed being close to attractions and restaurants, which added convenience to our trip.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were limited and not particularly healthy. Breakfast was chaotic, especially on the second morning, and the overall quality did not match what I've experienced at other hotels during similar trips.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area seemed small and not well-kept, which reflected poorly on the hotel's overall facilities. I experienced a lack of attention to cleanliness in common areas, and there were safety concerns regarding fire exits that made me uneasy.

I found the location excellent, especially for accessing various attractions. however, the hotel itself felt quite dated. The cleanliness of my room was a plus, yet the dated furniture and issues like a noisy environment made my stay less enjoyable. The facilities, while nice for families, could definitely use some improvements.

Rooms
5.0
My room, although clean, was impacted by some discomforts. the bathroom felt ancient and there was a persistent odor that was hard to shake off. The kitchenette was handy, but the seating was limited, making it less comfortable.
Service
5.0
The staff were polite and helpful when I required assistance, but the overall interaction felt rather impersonal. For example, I faced a delay during check-in which wasn't ideal after a long journey.
Location
8.0
The location was perfect for my needs. access to downtown and several restaurants nearby made it convenient. Plus, there's ample parking which is a bonus.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were quite limited and rather expensive, especially considering that breakfast wasn't included. I found the attached Boston Pizza to be convenient but not the healthiest choice.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities had a vibrant atmosphere, especially the pool area for kids. however, the pool itself was small and always crowded, which detracted from the experience. The gym equipment could also use an upgrade.

My stay at Hotel Universel was a mix of positives and negatives. While the location is excellent and the staff were friendly, I found the housekeeping services lacking and the overall comfort level of the accommodations below my expectations. The dated facilities didn't quite match the vibrant atmosphere I hoped for.

Rooms
5.0
The room was generally clean, but it definitely needed maintenance. The light above the bed and the leaky toilet were disappointing. I requested repairs, but they were not resolved during my stay.
Service
5.0
Staff were polite and friendly, though the housekeeping service was not proactive. I had to repeatedly request clean towels and room cleaning, which was quite frustrating.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is fantastic. It’s close to shops and only a short drive to downtown Quebec City, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
5.0
I found the on-site dining options to be limited and overpriced. Breakfast was not included, and I found better options at other hotels.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area was smaller than I expected, and the facilities felt dated. The noise from the event during my stay was disruptive, which detracted from the overall experience.

My stay at Hotel Universel was quite a mix. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and accommodating, especially when I inquired about switching to a better room. However, the room initially assigned to me was in a basement with no natural light, which was disappointing. The pool area was nice but a bit crowded, and the hot water issues on my last day really impacted my experience. Overall, it could use some updates, but the hotel is conveniently located near Boston Pizza and has a decent atmosphere. 🌟

I had a mixed experience at Hotel Universel. The location was convenient for exploring Quebec City, but the overall comfort and cleanliness left much to be desired. The pool was beautiful, which was a nice touch, but the lack of basic services like proper cleaning and breakfast really detracted from my stay.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were big, but the maintenance was poor. I encountered a clogged bathroom sink and noticed untidy details like a crooked TV. On top of that, I found hair in my room, which was unacceptable. The bed, however, was comfortable, which was a plus.
Service
5.0
I found the service to be inconsistent. Some staff were friendly and helpful, but my requests for assistance often went unanswered, especially regarding cleaning and amenities.
Location
8.0
The hotel’s location was ideal for excursions into Quebec City, with easy access to public transport and various attractions nearby. Plus, having a Boston Pizza on-site was a convenient dining option.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were limited. Breakfast was not served in the hotel, and the restaurant only had a basic menu. I found better food options nearby, so it didn’t really affect my stay.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities included a small pool that was lovely, but the elevators were out of service during my stay, which was quite inconvenient. I also didn't see much housekeeping, which was disappointing.
